New city. First discoveries.
New streets, new routines and a lot of place names you do not know yet. A walking puzzle adventure gives you a reason to leave the familiar route and begin making the city your own.

A new city can feel like a set of journeys between your room, lectures and the nearest shop. A self-guided trail offers a different introduction: stop, notice a real detail, solve a clue and discover the next place. You are building memories around what you see, rather than just following a blue dot.
The start, finish, duration and access information are visible before you commit. The places between them stay hidden until you solve the current puzzle. That gives your first exploration some structure while leaving room for a genuine surprise.
Something to do with the people you have just met.
A shared walk gives new flatmates or course friends a simple task to talk about. Take turns reading a clue, looking for the answer and asking for a hint. You do not need to organise a formal event or find out who is good at quizzes first.
You can share one phone or each play on your own device. Progress is local to each browser or installation; Unloc City does not organise student meetups, match players or synchronise a group leaderboard. Come with people you know or choose to explore independently.
Fit the walk around your actual week.
Compare the distance and duration with the time you have, then check access and any admission costs. A venue experience may need a separate ticket. There is no student discount or student subscription implied by this guide: the trail page is the place to check the real requirements.
Download with a reliable connection before heading out and keep using the same phone to resume. You can take a break and continue later. There is no account to create, but there is also no cloud backup if you clear your browser data.
Explore the city you are making your own.
Our UK catalogue spans major university cities across England, Scotland and Wales, including London, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. Check the live trail catalogue to find walks near your campus or student quarter.
Use the start and finish points to plan your journey. Follow the access notes, choose daylight and leave the navigation to a stationary moment. A city becomes less unfamiliar one small discovery at a time.
